Responsibilities:

The Buyer-Planner-Scheduler is responsible for the effective coordination of the material planning, purchasing and production planning function to ensure timely delivery to customers of finished goods, while upholding cost structures and meeting inventory targets. They create purchase orders in compliance with internal policies, manage strategic supplier relationships, and establish delivery dates based on material availability and forecast. As part of the supply chain, they form an important link between strategic sourcing and commercial purchasing, researching, and providing feedback on material shortages, supplier performance, and capabilities.
Incumbents of this role are required to be on call and/or available after hours, to provide their own mobile device, and to distribute their mobile phone number accordingly. Alternatively, individuals may distribute their office phone number if their office phone is set to forward calls to their personal device when they are not physically present.

Improve/build core supply planning processes using Oracle and Office tools, enabling improved customer delivery and inventory performance across the Jostens enterprise

Maintain responsibility for monitoring/creating purchase requisitions, on a daily/weekly basis, for appropriate vendors and converting requisitions to purchase orders.

Once a supplier is established, act of the primary contact for suppliers; escalate any issues to Strategic Sourcing team as they arise, including price changes, performance issues (delivery, responsiveness), contract changes, etc.

Purchase finished goods from outside suppliers to meet customer orders required dates. Access and input revisions (e.g., quantity, ship date) in order to update the plan.

Provide reporting to support business performance analysis, driving improvement of key performance indicators (KPI’s) of supply (production vs. plan, supplier on time delivery, inventory turns, Excess & Obsolete…) and set actions to improve

Ensure compliance with the companies Purchasing Policies and Procedures, Code of Ethics, Values and adherence to relevant laws and regulations

Support the design and documentation of standard operating procedure to capture best practices across supply planning processes; drive strategic and continuous improvement activities.

Manage assigned commodities by communicating changes to the suppliers, minimizing obsolete inventory while achieving optimum inventory levels

Job Requirements:
Education - Bachelor’s degree in business, supply management, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required; MBA preferred.
Experience – 2-3+ years of Supply Chain Operations experience (Buyer, Supply/Inventory Planning, Demand Planning, Supply Chain Strategy, SIOP)
Attention to detail - Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
Great Communication Skills - Ability to work effectively with all organizational levels. Work closely with others to conceptualize, test, and implement new ideas.
Technical Skill - High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word (Access a plus). Ability to develop enhanced system and processes based on business strategy, technology trends and best practices in supply planning. Strong general business knowledge.
Manages Ambiguity – Able to structure unstructured problems and deliver improved operating performance. Able to bring stakeholders along and manage change
Prioritization & Decision Making - Excellent time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks. Tolerance for ambiguity and risk with the ability to drive to decisions with less than perfect information.
